"To Hermes, Fumigation from Frankincense. Hermes, draw near, and to my prayer incline, messenger of Zeus, and Maia's son divine; prefect of contests, ruler of mankind, with heart almighty, and a prudent mind. Celestial messenger of various skill, whose powerful arts could watchful Argos kill. With winged feet 'tis thine through air to course, O friend of man, and prophet of discourse; great life-supporter, to rejoice is thine in arts gymnastic, and in fraud divine. With power endued all language to explain, of care the loosener, and the source of gain. Whose hand contains of blameless peace the rod, Corycion, blessed, profitable God. Of various speech, whose aid in works we find, and in necessities to mortal kind. Dire weapon of the tongue, which men revere, be present, Hermes, and thy suppliant hear; assist my works, conclude my life with peace, give graceful speech, and memory's increase."
--- Orphic Hymn 28 to Hermes (trans. Taylor) (Greek hymns C3rd B.C. to 2nd A.D.)

When I was asked to come aboard Arkansas Pagans as its new Editor, my heart skipped a beat. It is an exciting, daunting, uplifting experience to be serving on a site that has been instrumental for so many years in helping to connect Pagans across the Natural State. This will mark my first voyage into the world of editing, though I’m no stranger to Paganism and to writing. This will be my second year serving on the board for the Conway Pagan Pride Day (first as its Vice President), eleventh year as an openly practicing Pagan, second year serving the nonprofit group Pentacles of Pride (first as its Vice President), and as for writing…well, I’ve been doing that for as long as I could grasp a pen, and publishing throughout my 20’s. To be able to combine these two passions of mine is a dream, and one which I hope to linger in for many years to come.
You may have noticed the changes that the website has been undergoing. As our wonderful publisher Friday and I continue to brainstorm new ways to enhance your experience here, you should continue to see a number of changes popping up from time to time, all designed to make it easier for you to access articles and tell us what you’d like to see more of. If you don’t see something on the site that you did in its older incarnation, don’t fret…these things will be re-added as Friday works on them to incorporate them better into the new layout.
We will also be posting new articles every Wednesday, unless breaking news requires us to make an immediate post outside of the schedule. We hope that this new commitment to fresh material keeps you up to date and well informed with what’s going on in Pagan news, both in Arkansas and in the world. Please let us know which articles are really speaking to you and what you think about the issues, as our readers are integral to the direction of Arkansas Pagans.
I look forward to our future together!
